Uzaki Chan Wants To Hang Out anime has been a huge success and has fans all over the world. It is a wholesome rom-com slice-of-life anime where the protagonists are barely in an official relationship. This anime is a fun ride with anticlimactic romance.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the anime’s new season. Want something to watch until then? Here’s a list of 10 anime you’ll sure love watching if you are ‘Uzaki’ fans.
10) AHO GIRL
If you’re a Uzaki-Chan fan and want to watch upbeat and carefree girl protagonists, then they’ll find plenty to like in Aho Girl. Yoshiko Hanabatake is the Aho Girl anime’s protagonist. She and Uzaki Chan have a lot in common. Aho Girl follows a similar comedy format. In this anime, Yoshiko’s shenanigans and insanity against her male childhood friend are shown.
9) TEASING MASTER TAKAGI-SAN
Uzaki-chan is mostly about extroverted girl teases introverted boy. The anime is simply alluring, and hilarious. Teasing Master Takagi-San is quite similar and has the same premise. The anime’s name suggests most of it.
It revolves around two best friends, Takagi and Nishitaka. Takagi is the boisterous and bold one. She constantly teases and makes fun of Nishitaka, an easy-going boy. Nishitaka, however, decides that one day he will give Takagi a taste of her own medicine.
8) HOW CLUMSY YOU ARE, MISS UENO!
This anime follows the same straight-up rom-com suit as well. However, this time, it’s the girl who’s awkward and socially inept. But also, she is extremely smart and is a scientist and an inventor. As you already got from the title, her name is Ueno and she is head over heels for a boy named Tanaka.
Tanaka, however, thinks Ueno is very annoying. Ueno keeps on trying to find out the perfect scientific method to make Tanaka fall in love with her. She tries out her new invention to manipulate Tanaka’s feelings.
7) MY LOVE STORY!!
This anime has a more dynamic approach as compared to the easy-going Uzaki-Chan path. Takeo Gouda is a muscular and handsome freshman and has a massive crush on the angelic Rinko Yamato.
The catch is that Takeo isn’t too popular with girls due to his brutish appearance. Also, Rinko has a calling for a more stereotypical shoujo dream boy. Sunakawa is one such boy who has a slender frame, feminine face, and blond hair. It’s quite the competition, but of course, more fun in watching them go after one another.
6) DAGASHI KASHI
This anime has a quite relatable story. It revolves around one ambitious boy named Shikada Dagashi who wants to be a manga artist. However, his family has run a sweets shop for nine generations. So naturally, his father wants Shikada to flush his dreams and inherit the sweets store.
So, in an attempt to convince Shikada, his father brings an eccentric corporate girl named Hotaru Shidare. She tries to convince him in the most comedic and suggestive (but still wholesomely adult) way possible.
5) THE HELPFUL FOX SENKO-SAN
Sewayaki Kitsune Senko-San or The Helpful Fox Senko-san has a more mystical flair than the usual slice-of-life story. Kuroto Nakano is a salaryman and leads a rather messy and monotonous life. However, it gets upside down when a fox deity decides to help!
Fox deity transforms into a fox girl and helps Kuroto with his household as well as his mental and physical health. The deity considers stress as dark energy and believes that it will ruin a person’s life. If given a thought, they are absolutely right!
The anime revolves around two main characters, Taiga Aisaka and Ryuuji Takasu. It is one of the most mature rom-com anime out there. Taiga and Ryuuji cross paths during unfortunate circumstances and forms a very special bond.
Ryuuji is a certified annoying and neurotic fellow, unlike Taiga. Ryuuji also has piercing eyes and scary gaze, and so he is often misunderstood. The anime follows the duo tango from friendship to potential partners and its worth watching.
3) THE MELANCHOLY OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA
Haruhi Suzumiya has unforced eccentricity and energy and she can beat almost every other female protagonist. She and her school friends’ group chase all sorts of mysteries in town.
The anime is not exactly romance-focused, but the male protagonist has a thing for Haruhi through the show. He tries everything to impress her and quite a fun journey.
2 SCHOOL RUMBLE
School Rumble is just pure comedy gold. This anime has many love webs and shows exactly how complex high school life is in Japan. Harima Kenji and Tenma Tsukamoto are the anime’s two main characters.
Harima is a bad boy archetype and has a huge crush on Tenma. On the other hand, Tenma is a clueless and humble high school girl. All the other characters only serve to further complicate the love web.
1) ARAKAWA UNDER THE BRIDGE
Arakawa Under the Bridge anime’s protagonist is someone who’s out into the adult world to fulfill some responsibilities and pressures. He forgot to have fun along the way and is quite similar to Uzaki-Chan’s protagonist. He comes across a gang of weirdos. These eccentric people have made a bridge to their sanctuary from the serious and cruel world.
One of the members of the group falls for the protagonist and wants to have him as a boyfriend. This anime is one of the wackiest slice-of-life animes out there.
