You Season 3: Netflix Release and Other Official updates.
This psychological thriller had two phenomenal seasons and has kept the fans wanting more of it. No wonder, within a month of release of season two, Netflix bagged the show for its next instalment. What is in the fate for the stalker and serial killer Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) and his obsession Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti)? Spoiler Warning!!
Last season shows Joe moving from Big Apple City to the city of L.A., California, where he meets his new target, chef and health guru, Love Quinn.Joe Goldberg(Penn Badgley) in a still from the series(Source:Netflix)
Origin of the Series “You”
The binge-worthy series is an adaption of a book written by Caroline Kepnes. The first season is adapted from the first book ‘You’, and the second based on the sequel named ‘Hidden Bodies’. The author recently announced on twitter about the completion of the third instalment, “You Love Me”, which release on 6th April, 2021 and the fans are more than excited for the upcoming season.Caroline Kepnes and her first book from which the series is adapted(Source:TheTasteBasket)
A Quick Flashback
The previous season released on December 26, 2019. It ended on a rather eerie note, where Love revealed that she had been behind the murder of both Delilah (Carmela Zumbado) and Candace (Ambyr Childers) – it looks as if Joe (or as he now calls himself “Will”) had met his match. There are obvious speculations for season three that the murderous couple is going to face these revelations and also-a shocking pregnancy!! It seems that this frivolous duo is going to be a happy unit, although it would be undeniable to expect some killing.Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti in You Season 2(Source:Netflix)
All about You Season 3
A short teaser was released on 14th January, 2020 on official twitter handle of @YouNetflix with a witty caption “New Year, New You” that confirmed the arrival of the season.
One of the makers of the show Patrick Gamble and Sara Gamble gave out their excitement in the upcoming storyline. They said, “We wrote [the finale] hoping that we will get the opportunity to tell more stories because we’re extremely excited with the seeds planted at the end of season two.”
Forty (Love’s brother), has no idea about his sister’s actions, strives to protect her from Joe that eventually leads to his death. While going behind Joe’s life, Forty himself gets shot and gets killed by Officer Vasquez, who followed Delilah’s sister to Anavrin. Since forty made a murder attempt and the financial situation of Quinn is improved, Joe was free from the suspicion of Henderson’s death. Joe, along with his pregnant girlfriend, moves to a home in suburbs, and in the upcoming season, Joe heavily hints his new “victim” will be his next-door neighbour.Love Quinn(Victoria Pedretti) and her brother Forty(James Scully) (Source:Glamour)
The next series is expected to consist of 10 episodes- which was the case for the first two- and anticipated to release in 2021, although the pandemic has raised many doubts regarding the shooting and release.
Any changes in the cast?
It is obvious that both the protagonists Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti are going to be the same homicidal love-struck couple. It can be assumed that some characters like: Love’s brother Forty Quinn (James Scully), Will Bettelheim(Robin Lord Taylor) , whose identity Joe stole in season 3, Love’s friends Lucy(Marielle Scott), Sunrise(Melanie Field) and Gabe(Charlie Barnett) will still be a part of the cast.
