Attack On Titan anime has given us many villains but no one was near to as ruthless as this one. Anime’s chapter 130, titled “Dawn For Humanity”, turned the tables for us. Whom we once saw as a heroic protagonist has continued his fall into a more villainous role.
“You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain”. This quote is a perfect fit here. Now, the anime’s ultimate villain is revealed so the series is going to be exciting than ever. Here’s everything you need to know about the villain.
Attack On Titan: Who is the Ultimate Villain?
Eren Yaeger is the series, ultimate villain! He was first introduced as the Shiganshina District’s citizen. Has spent the majority of his story hating the of Titans’ demonized race that has been devouring the human population.
He decided to pick up arms in the Scout Regiment and fight them. His final goal always was to eradicate their race. His rage grew every day until finally, he saw humans as the real enemies.
Now, “Dawn For Humanity” has given a glimpse of the inevitable through Eren’s memories. Fans always though that Eren will find his way back home, but he is beyond redemption. Now, there is no return to sanity, there will only be destruction and bloodshed. His nefarious actions and very different perspective led him to this path. The entire storyline, from the very beginning, was summing up to this exact moment.
Deep inside, Eren has allowed his hatred for the titans to become his defining characteristic. He takes pride in what he has done and he thinks he is the almighty protector. But little does he know, he is the one humanity needs protection from.
What led to this?
In the recent chapter, Eren relives the day when he watched a Titan consume his mother. This is when everything changed in his life and he decides to kill all of the Titans. Now, the present Eren has evolved into someone no one can recognize.
Attack on Titan has always been on a morality seesaw. The typical idea of good vs evil depends upon an individual’s perspective of certain things. It is said, “One man’s terrorist is another man’s patriot”.
So in the end, everything depends on our perception of right and wrong. Following the Death Note or Tokyo Ghoul trends, the writers ask readers to develop their thoughts on the character’s actions. The writer encouraged fans to put forward their perspective rather than assuming that the “heroes” are always in the right.
This anime is going to be at its best from now onwards and it’s going to be a delight to watch. We will bring more insights very soon. Until then, stay tuned and keep reading for all the latest updates!
