Away is all set to land on Netflix next month and is already all hits. This Netflix drama’s trailer was a huge hit and fans are very excited for its release. Here everything you need to know about the show.

Away: Release Date, Cast, and Crew

The upcoming Netflix drama will premiere on September 4 worldwide.

Two-time Oscar-winner, Hilary Swank will play the lead in the show. She always wanted to a huge star and we are not talking about Hollywood. Swank wanted to be an astronaut before she chose an acting career. She told that she would love to go to space if she ever gets the chance. Swank believes playing an astronaut is the second best.

Jason Katims directed the 10-episode show. He has also directed “Parenthood,” and “Friday Night Lights“.

Synopsis

Emma Green (Hilary Swank) is all on board for a mission to Mars. The show is set in the near future and it dramatizes the first human-led expedition to Mars. Emma Stone is the mission’s commanding officer leading scientists and astronauts’ international crew.

Crew members are skeptical about Emma’s leadership abilities. Emma also struggles with guilt over leaving her teenage daughter (Talitha Bateman) and husband (Josh Charles) back on Earth.

Yu (Vivian Wu, left), Kwesi (Ato Essandoh), Ram (Ray Panthaki), Misha (Mark Ivanir), and Emma (Hilary Swank), the International Space Crew must learn to live and work together in close quarters in “Away.”

The series is loosely based on Chris Jones’ 2014 Esquire story. It is about the first American astronaut to spend a year in space.

Swank spoke extensively to former astronaut Mike Massimino to prepare for the role. She also attended a so-called “boot camp,” where she learned wire work for the series’ zero-gravity space scenes. Her Oscars are a testament to her dedication to any role.
