Balance: Unlimited Episode 11: The Chase Continues

The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited is a Japanese anime television series produced by CloverWorks. Tomohiko Itō is the director of the series. It is inspired by the novel The Millionaire Detective written by Yasutaka Tsutsui. It premiered on April 9, 2020, on Fuji TV‘s Noitamina anime programming block. But, the programming was postponed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. But, the series restarted its broadcasting on July 16, 2020, from the first episode.

The story of Balance: Unlimited revolves around Daisuke Kambe, a detective with an extreme amount of personal wealth. He is assigned to the Modern Crime Prevention Headquarters where officers who have caused problems for the Metropolitan Police Department are sent. There, Daisuke is partnered with Haru Katou who is repulsed by Daisuke’s materialistic ways. Challenging mysteries unfold in front of the two detectives, and they must work together to solve them.

Recapturing Episode 10 of Balance: Unlimited 

The episode was titled “Life Shouldn’t be Printed on Dollar Bills”. It beings with Daisuke thinking that he must thank Haru for helping him out. He adds on by saying that he should’ve crushed the villain underneath the shipping container. Daisuke thinks that they should’ve killed him before he kills them. But, to that Haru reminds him that he’s just a civil servant. The villain manages to reach his boss who told him not to kill Daisuke. The villain asks his boss if Daisuke is his son and what exactly is his job.

The Boss deposits 100 Million into the villain’s account and orders him to teach his son a lesson. It is revealed that Daisuke’s father is Shigemaru, the boss. But, his name is not yet revealed. Meanwhile, Haru leads the way to the lifeboat near the bridge and tells Daisuke that they are going to escape using the life lifeboat. But, Daisuke says that he has to go see Shigemaru Kambe.

Daisuke goes to the Engen room and orders Haru to go to the deck and distract the villain.  So, he throws his jacket into the water pretending he got shot and fell into the water. Meanwhile, Daisuke enters a room where he sees Addollium, a weapon that destroys the world. But, suddenly the villain enters the scene. He fights with Daisuke until Haru shows up.

Haru shoots the red cable and it starts to create smoke. And at that time, Daisuke gets back his ASV suit. He beats the villain to pulp and takes him down. The ship starts sinking due to some damages. Daisuke gets a call from Suzie. She tells him to go to the deck, where she has sent a helicopter. He asks her to give him the direction to the bridge. He promises her that he will return home alive.

Daisuke finally reaches where Shigemaru is. He tells him that he is under arrest for the murder of Nakamoto and Takei. But, Shigemaru orders HUESC to neutralize Daisuke. And meanwhile, he escapes after the explosions. But, Daisuke and Haru successfully find Shigemaru’s location. They find that he is injured and start following him using the helicopter Suzie sent.

Initially, the telecast of Balance: Unlimited will take place all over various Japanese TV networks. Obviously, for the original Japanese version, Fans will be able to depend on FujiTV. For others, you can stream Episode 10 as well as all the previous episodes on Funimation.
