Black Panther’s sequel was confirmed by Kevin Feige, before any discussion for Phase-4 was started, he confirmed it by stating Black Panther’s sequel is “Absolutely” going to happen. And there was no hesitation for doing that as Black Panther broke records of every superhero movie, although haven’t won in Golden Globe but had been a great competitor, and made Oscar history at 2019 Academy awards.
Rumors were, in the next movie, Wakanda could be attacked by either Killmonger or Namor or Zanda being antagonist who is looking to take over Wakanda. Where Killmonger not being an antagonist and he finally solved Marvel’s pesky ‘villain problem’. And winning the best villain trophy at MTV’s Movies and TV Awards fans would be happy to see him.
For the movie, Ryan Coogler is returning as writer and director while bringing back the principal cast of movie Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa aka Black Panther), Michael b. Jordan (Killmonger), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Daniel Kaluuya (w’Kabi), Angela Bassett(Ramonda, T’Challa’s mother) and Martin Freeman (Everett K. Ross) will be reprising their roles. But characters like Michael B. Jordan undergoing therapy we might not able to see them.
For Black Panther 2, filming is going to start at Fox Studio, Australia, from mid-2021 and the movie is being scheduled on May 6, 2022. The team is taking its time to make another great potential movie.
