Black Summer Season 2: Plot
In the cliffhanger Season 1 end, we saw Rose killing Valez in the finale episode. We also saw Rose finally unite with her daughter which was a sigh of relief. Spears, Sun, and Rose are the survivors.
Season 2’s story will most probably revolve around refugees and survival. The group will eventually come across an utterly ill society. Nobody has proper immunity, and there is a lot of hidden symbolism.
Karl Schaefer and John Hyams created the Netflix Original zombie-thriller series, Black Summer. The series is set in the same universe of Z-Nation. The series is a spiritual successor of Z-Nation.
Black Summer is set years before the events of Z-Nation. A mother joins with a group of strangers in the darkest days of the zombie apocalypse. She wants their help to find her lost daughter and their loved ones.
Netflix Renewal Status
Netflix typically takes up to one to two months to renew its shows. But in the case of Black Summer, there was no news of renewal until October 2019.
Netflix confirmed in November 2019 that Black Summer will return for a second season.
What’s the production status?
The filming of the second season began in early 2020. The coronavirus pandemic disrupted the entire schedule.
The filming will reportedly commence from August 17, 2020. This was a sign of relief for all the fans. Filming of the first season began in July 2018 and wrapped up by the end of September 2018.
