Bob Dylan Biopic: Timothee Chalamet Starrer Postponed! When Will It Arrive?

Phedon Papamichael, the cinematographer who was nominated by Oscar, has said that the production on the biopic of Bob Dylan, starring Timothee Chalamet as the legendary musician, is currently on a halt and not on the cards as of now in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. James Mangold, the director, is all set to direct the untitled musical biopic, which will be charting the switch of the Nobel Prize winner from folk to rock music.

When asked about the Dylan movie, Papamichael revealed that he does not think it is dead, not right now, but it is a tough one to pull off in a Covid-era because it is all in small clubs with lots of extras in period costumes, so you have got lots of makeup and hair.

The director of photography has previously worked with Mangold on Ford v Ferrari, the 2019 sports drama. The Trial of the Chicago 7, the Netflix legal period drama, is his recently released project. Papamichael, on talking about these two films, said that the biopic would have been his third consecutive film set in the 1960s.

He said that they are both 1960s movies, and he can not remember what he did before this. They were going to do Bob Dylan with Mangold, but that did not happen with Timothee Chalamet about going electric in the 1960s, and it would have been his third 1960s movie in a row.

Ford v Ferrari movie revolves around the feud between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari as they both competed to win Le Mans World Championship in the year 1966 in France.

The Trial of the Chicago 7‘, which is written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, is based on the infamous 1969 trial of seven men that were charged by the federal government with conspiracy arising from the counterculture protests in Chicago at the 1968 Democratic National Convention.
