Castle Rock is not going to return for a third season, and it is official. It has been confirmed that Hulu has recently canceled the psychological horror series starring Lizzy Caplan after two seasons. The second season of the anthology series was premiered more than a year ago, and since then, there were no expectations for a third installment of the franchise, and the decision to finally end the series after two seasons was made a while ago.
Warner Bros TV was once one of the first suppliers of Hulu, and it branched out into original premium content, and it has focussed its attention on supplying recently launched platform, HBO Max. However, we have heard that there are no plans for Castle Rock to be continued on HBO Max.

In the second season of the series from Stephen King and J.J. Abrams, a feud between warring clans came to a boil when Annie Wilkes, the budding psychopath, King’s nurse from hell, got waylaid in Castle Rock. The second season of the series also included Barkhad Abdi, Yusra Warsama, Matthew Alan, and Elsie Fisher.
Dustin Thomason and Sam Shaw has developed the project for television and has served as the executive producers of the show along with Ben Stephenson, Abrams, King, Vince Calandra, and Liz Glotzer.
Castle Rock has hailed from Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros Television. It is the latest series to be canceled at Hulu, joining Harlots, High Fidelity, Runaways, and Future Man, among others.
The series is set in the titular Maine town where many of Stephen King’s published works take place, weaved together characters and locations from the author’s novels to make way for new mysteries. In the first season of the series, for example, André Holland starred as Henry Deaver, a death-row attorney who returned home to Castle Rock after a mysterious man (played by Bill Skarsgård) turned up at Shawshank State Prison.
In the second season of the series, Lizzy Caplan played a younger version of Misery’s Annie Wilkes, who was on the run from the FBI after committing a murder, and when she wound up in Castle Rock with daughter Joy, whose role is played by Elsie Fisher, even more bizarre and horrifying events went down.
