The Black Panther actor, who recently died of colon cancer, got married to Taylor Simone Ledward, his long-time girlfriend, months before his demise. The family of the actor released the statement that the 43-year-old actor was married before he passed away on August 28, Friday. He was battling from colon cancer for the past four years.

The statement from his family also said that the actor passed away in his home with his family and wife by his side. Also, the Boseman family thanked all the fans of the actor for their love and prayers and asked them to respect their privacy during this hard time.

The ’42’ actor was in a relationship with the singer Taylor Simone Ledward, and he got engaged to Taylor in October 2019. The couple got married secretly months before the actor died as per the reports. The couple was spotted in 2015 for the first time, and it was one year before Chadwick Boseman was diagnosed with the deadly disease. Since 2015, the couple was spotted and photographed together multiple times at different events in Hollywood.
The actor acknowledged his relationship with Taylor in public for the first time at the NAACP Image Awards in the year 2019 in his acceptance speech. He said, “Simone, you are with me every day. I have to acknowledge you right now. Love you.”
“He was a pure fighter”
His family referred him as a true fighter, as Chadwick never let it out on his work and social life, he preserved through it all. He brought us many movies while going through countless chemotherapy sessions and surgeries as he was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer. Throughout his battle with the deadly disease, his cancer progressed to Stage IV. They also added that it was the honour of the career of the actor to bring T’Challa, the king of Wakanda to life in Black Panther.
