Chadwick Boseman To Receive Posthumous Honors at Multiple Awards Shows After His Death

The ‘Black Panther‘ actor will be honored with the Hero For The Ages award. Chadwick Boseman is all set to receive a posthumous MTV award as part of the 2020 Movie & TV Awards of the network, particularly this weekend.

On December 6, Sunday, the Greatest Of All Time special will recognize the late Black Panther superstar with a Hero For The Ages award.

MTV revealed that it is giving the award to a superstar whose heroism on-screen was only surpassed by the true hero they were off-screen. Chadwick’s fellow Marvel actors Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle are set to present the award.

The 90-minute MTV special, which Vanessa Hudgens hosted, is set to take place instead of the edition of this year of the MTV Movie & TV Awards. It will be celebrating the best films and shows in the past four decades.

With appearances from the stars of Halloween, Cruel Intentions, and High School Musical, the online event will also be seeing performances from Sia, Steve Aoki, and Travis Barker.

Other honourees include Buffy The Vampire Slayer‘s Sarah Michelle Gellar, Veronica MarsKristen Bell, Kevin Hart (Zero F**ks Given), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Jamie Lee Curtis (Knives Out), Kevin Bacon (Mystic River), William Zabka (Cobra Kai) and Selma Blair (Cruel Intentions).

The program will air tomorrow night (December 6) at 1 am GMT (8 pm EST) on MTV,, and the MTV app. Boseman, who died in August at the age of 43 following a four-year battle with colon cancer, is best known for his role as King T’Challa in Black Panther.

It was recently revealed that Marvel would not use a digital body double for Boseman in the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster.

Plans have been put in place to start shooting Black Panther 2 in July; it is being reported. Original plans to start production next March were delayed after the sudden death of Boseman.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, July 2021 has become the next proposed date to begin filming the sequel. Sources have said that the shoot will start in Atlanta, Georgia next summer, and last for six months or more.

Well, it is no doubt that he deserved this award, he totally nailed the character of Black Panther, and we surely can not imagine anyone else playing that character.
