The “A Thousand Years” singer, Christina Perri, suffered a pregnancy loss couple of days ago. She had recently announced that she might have to deliver her baby earlier than expected due to complications. Her new-born daughter was “born-silent”.
The 34-year-old singer took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal about the miscarriage. She and her husband, Paul Costabile, were expecting a daughter in a few weeks but was hospitalized early.
In the post, Perri and her husband were holding the hands of their daughter. She wrote to it, “last night we lost our baby girl. she was born silent after fighting so hard to make it to our world. she is at peace now and will live forever in our hearts,”
The singer first made the big reveal in July that she and Paul are expecting their second child together. The couple has a 2½-year-old daughter, Carmella Stanley.
The ‘Jar of Hearts” singer, has had a tragic history of a miscarriage earlier this year. She has been openly candid about her pregnancies. She previously suffered from a miscarriage of her 11-week old baby in January 2020.
Perri was experiencing pregnancy issues and had been consistently keeping fans up to date about her and the baby’s health. She writes in a social media message that they are shocked and completely heartbroken. She added that when the time will feel right, they will try again to conceive but for now they mourn the loss of their little one.
Christina wants to help change the story about the stigma attached to miscarriages. One should not be ashamed of it.
Christina Perri Complications:
On Friday, Perri, uploaded an Instagram story conveying that her baby on the way would need to undergo a surgery immediately after the birth. The baby suffered from a birth defect called Jejunal atresia.
Jejunal atresia is a defect in which the intestine fails to develop properly. The membrane which connects the small intestines and the abdominal wall is poorly developed or is completely absent. The intestine then twists an artery that supplies blood to the colon, creating a blockage.
In another social share, she addresses her fans greeting them a good morning. She further adds that she a big long cry and she’s trying to acknowledge each of the feelings that surface above. She is upset and angry and misses her daughter Carmella.
2020 has definitely been the hardest for Christina Perri. Having to lose 2 children in a single year is devastating and heart-wrenching.
