George Floyd, an African – American man’s death in Minneapolis, has caused a huge uproar in all the nations and especially in the US. Along with the common people, even Hollywood celebrities are stepping on streets to protest and show their support towards the Black Lives Matter Movement.
Riverdale star Cole Sprouse while attending one such protest on May 31 in Santa Monica, California, stated that an arrest was made, and he was zip-tied.
The actor took to his official account on Instagram and revealed how the incident took place.
He wrote, “I was detained when standing in solidarity, as were many of the final vanguard within Santa Monica.”
Sprouse further added that he wouldn’t speak more on the matter as he did not want to draw attention away from the issue and urged his fans to ‘stand as an ally‘ and to donate and support the Black Lives Matter Movement.
Floyd breathed his last on May 25, 2020. Derek Chauvin, a white police officer, kept kneeling on Floyd’s neck for nine minutes while he was face down in the street. This brutality resulted in Floyd’s death due to a lack of oxygen.
