Days Of Our Lives Production Suspended For Two Weeks: Staff Member COVID-19 Positive

The production on NBC’s Days of Our Lives has been halted for the two upcoming weeks after a member of the team of production was tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. All the members of the cast and crew were informed through an email that they received from the Corday Productions, which produces in association with the Sony Pictures TV.

The filming for the show is slated to be resumed from October 26. However, it was also mentioned that this delay in the production process would not be having any effect on the airing dates of the show. Also, the original run of the show on NBC is not going to be disrupted.

The member who got a positive result in the COVID-19 test as part of the stringent testing protocol of the production has been placed in isolation. Also, the preliminary contact testing has been finished, with the people identified as close contacted with the affected individual that are placed in the quarantine for a period of 14 days.

The actions that were taken out of an abundance of caution, also include disinfecting of the production facilities of the Days of Our Lives and deep cleaning at the Burbank Studios.

The show shut down its production in mid-March amid the worldwide production shutdown due to the ongoing pandemic. The show has enough completed originals, unlike its counterparts which had episodes in the can to last a couple of months to take in through early October.

As a result of this, the production on the show was resumed on September 1, weeks, and even months after the other broadcast daytime dramas. The Bold and the Beautiful of CBS has had brief production pauses related to the testing.

Several other shows have recently shut down for two weeks following the COVID-19 test including ABC/Sony TV’s For Life and NBC/Uni TV’s Chicago Med reflecting the challenges of filming large-scale television series during a pandemic.
