DC’s Stargirl Renewed For Season 2 | Know Details Here

DC’s Stargirl has been reportedly renewed for a second season, which came as a little surprise, given the warm reception of the superhero series. The main twist here is that not the DC Universe, but The CW has ordered the pickup, because starting from the second season of the series, it will be the exclusive in-season home for the show. It means that the episodes of The Stargirl Season 2 will first be aired on The CW, and then they will be landing on the network’s free, ad-supported streaming platforms, the day after.

There are sources that reveal that there are no plans for the second season to stream on the DC Universe, which holds all kind of content beyond the original TV series. However it does appear to be on the verge of a transition.

Stargirl Renewed For Another Season

The renewal of Stargirl came after seven weeks of the launch of the Arrowverse-adjacent series on May 18, and it was graded A on an average. One day after the debut of the series on the streaming service of the DC Universe, it was premiered on The CW, and the total count of the viewers was 1.22 million. This count was better than the count of the finale episode of predecessor of the series, The Flash, which was 1.08 million.

Since then the series has managed to hold a million viewers on a weekly basis on The CW, however, in addition to this, many viewers were catching it on the DC Universe.

The show is led by a character which is inspired by the late sister of the creator, Geoff Johns. DC’s’s Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as a spry teen, Courtney Whitmore, whose life was upended in Los Angeles when her widowed mom, Barbara, played by Amy Smart, remarries, and in turn relocates them to the super-quaint Blue Valley, Nebraska. Though initially Courtney was not a fan of her stepdad Pat Dugan, played by Luke Wilson, things literally brightened up when she discovers in her new home’s cellar a glowing cosmic staff, that veritably called out to her.
