With the global pandemic problem, more and more T.V. Networks are moving to stream service where people can re-watch their favourite shows again.
Discovery is an extensive network. The network includes channels like HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, OWN, Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, and Animal Planet. They will adopt their online streaming service, starting with about 55,000 episodes. At the same time, they are dealing with the struck a deal with A&E Networks, which features A&E, The History Channel, and Lifetime.
The top shows which will be featured in the Online Streaming Application will be “90 days fiancé”, “A Perfect Planet,” “Clipped,” “Route 66,” and much more.
It will cost $5 with ads and $7 without ads. The subscription will allow up to 5 users, with four users streaming at a time. It will be available on major platforms, such as T.V.’s website, mobile, and tablets.
The plan was pending from 2019, but David Zaslav, the CEO of Discovery, didn’t put up details until now.
He said, “We have been working methodically the past two years to bring all of our strategic advantages to the launch of discovery+. including distribution and advertising partnerships around the world. a world-class offering of quality brands, authentic personalities and the largest content library at launch, as well as a broad slate of exclusive programming. With discovery+, we are seizing the global opportunity to be the world’s definitive product for unscripted storytelling, providing households and mobile consumers a distinct, clear and differentiated offering across valuable and enduring lifestyle, and real-life verticals.”
Version users will get a free service for a month, as Disney did when they launched their streaming service.
Some of the biggest streaming platforms currently are Hulu and Netflix, including Disney Plus, Apple T.V. Plus, HBO Max, and Comcast’s Peacock service.
The streaming service will be available in around 25 countries, including Italy, Spain, the U.K., Ireland, and India.
