The wait for Marvel fans is just about to get over! Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye TV show starring Jeremy Renner is set to shoot in Brooklyn. Marvel Studios is producing the show for Disney+. Journalist Chris Welch shared on his Twitter that people move their vehicles for shooting the Anchor Point, the working title of the Hawkeye series.

Pandemic situations arose in a manner that production had to shut down for a while. Other Marvel shows like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki were interrupted by COVID.

Storyline

Clint Barton (played by Jeremy Renner) trains Kate Bishop as his protégé. Makers take the inspiration for the series from writer Matt Fraction’s run on the title. Sources have speculated Hailee Steinfeld in the role of Bishop. News is that Florence Pugh will recur in the part of Yelena Belova from Black Widow

Hailee isn’t spilling anything when asked about being part of the MCU. during her interview with SiriusXM Hits 1 on Wednesday (May 6), Hailee remained mum about it. “Did the connection get a little funky?” she jokingly asked, knowing it didn’t. Hailee didn’t confirm or deny involvement in a project, though. Instead, she brought it back to her music. “Right now, I will tell you, that music is where my head is at,” she shared. “It’s what I’m focused on. I’m excited to have this time that we’ve been given to focus on that.”

It will be directed by Amber Finlayson and Katie Ellwood, aka Bert and Bertie, who are best known for their work on Troop Zero, and Rhys Thomas (Staten Island Summer). Hawkeye is expected to debut in Fall 2021 on Disney+.

New Hawkeye?

In the comics, Bishop becomes Hawkeye after Clint Barton and is also a member of the Young Avengers. Disney has not yet confirmed if they have plans to give Bishop her spinoff show or have her appear in the MCU down the road, but it is certainly a possibility.

The project’s working title “Anchor Point” serves as a homage to the first volume of Kelly Thompson’s fan-favorite comic book series published in 2017. Titled as Vol.1: Anchor Points was Kate Bishop’s first solo comic series after appearing in the Young Avengers issues. However, it’s still unknown if the said comics’ storyline would connect to the series’ plot or not.
