Dr. Death: Joshua Jackson Replaces Jamie Dornan For The Lead Role!

Dr. Death is getting a new star according to some reports and it also suggests that Joshua Jackson is replacing Jamie Dornan as the lead star of the new Peacock limited series. He was cast in the show last year, which is based on the true story of the Dallas neurosurgeon Dr. Christopher Duntsch who was indicted in the year 2015 on the charges of aggravated assault against his five patients.

The series plans to tell the people the story of how some of the patients of his up-and-coming practices ended up either maimed or dead after the procedures that he performed.

Lawyers for Duntsch argued in the court that it was a case of the surgeries that were gone bad, but the prosecutors alleged that whatever is done, he has intentionally done it and has harmed his patients. He was convicted of intentionally inflicting on an elderly patient in the year 2017 and he was sentenced to life in prison.

Dornan, who is better known for his roles in The Fall and the Fifty Shades franchise, had to drop out reportedly due to the pandemic related production delays no longer making it feasible for his schedule to allow him to star in the project.

Jackson, who was last seen in the limited series named, Little Fires Everywhere, will be taking on the role and will be starring opposite to Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater. The production of Dr. Death is slated to begin in the upcoming months.

Dr. Death is based on the true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, who was a rising star in the Dallas medical community. Young, charismatic, and brilliant, he was building a flourishing neurosurgery practice when everything changed suddenly. His patients entered his operating room for complex but spinal surgeries that were of routine and left permanently maimed or even dead.

As the victims piled up, two of the fellow physicians, neurosurgeon Robert Henderson and vascular surgeon Randall Kirby, set out to stop him.
