Dragon Ball franchise is getting more and more interesting every day. Over the course, we have seen Yamcha getting two scars on his face. The first scar is a curved line over his eye.

Dragon Ball: Yamcha and Goku’s Older Days!

Yamcha is one of Goku’s oldest friends and an original Z-warrior. He was one of Goku’s best allies before Goku began fighting with Vegeta, Gohan, and Piccolo.

Yamcha’s scars are one of his most peculiar characteristics. His scars are like his trademarks. He was not having these scars through most of the original Dragon Ball. So, when did the scars first appeared?

We first saw Yamcha’s scars when 18-year Goku first arrived at the Kame House to reunite with his friends. This was in the Dragon Ball’s final story arc.

Yamcha never revealed why or exactly when he got these scars. Before the reunion, the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament was gang on. It was during this tournament when Goku battled Piccolo for the first time and became engaged to Chi-Chi.

During these Dragon Ball’s hidden three years, Goku, Tien, Krillin, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu spent their time training for the tournament. Said this, we can say that Yamcha got his scars while preparing for the tournament.

It is possible that Yamcha got his scars while preparing with someone who carried a sword. This proves Yamcha’s training’s intensity and dedication.

The scars have gradually become an important part of Yamcha’s look. These scars helped reinvent the character and present him in a new way. When the franchise started, Yamcha was different than how he is now. He was also known as the ‘Desert Bandit’.
