Release date of Eurovision Song Contest:
The Eurovision movie premiered on Netflix on June 26, 2020. However, The film was originally scheduled to get on-air in May. But the coronavirus led the makers to push the release date forward.
However, The movie was filmed in 2019. Interestingly, Will Ferrell, the cast member, visited the final of the 2018 Contest as a part of the research. In addition, Will’s co-star Rachel McAdams was also spotted by the fans. They were spotted at the dress rehearsal performances of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, that happened in Israel.
Talking to a famous publishing house about the research, McAdams shared, “[Eurovision] got on my radar the year that Conchita Wurst won a few years back for Germany. And then I didn’t come across it again until the film came up. Then I was off to Tel Aviv to research the actual Eurovision. And it was a steep learning curve from there.”
“I am thrilled that I actually went. Because you can’t get a feel for that from a YouTube video or researching home. Just the pride that each country has in their representing group. Glad how patriotic everyone is. And the craze and how much the performers really go for it.”
