Pranab Mukherjee, the former Bharat Ratna Indian President passed away at an age of 84 due to health complications. He was the 13th president of India from 2012 to 2017.
Earlier in August, he had undergone brain surgery at the Army Research and Referral hospital in the national capital. Earlier today, hospital authorities said his condition deteriorated further. He had tested positive for Coronavirus and also suffered a lung infection. After his health worsened, he was on ventilator support for days.
Things were quite serious since today morning, as his son Abhijit Mukherjee posted a tweet asking for supporting prayers from the people of India.

Pranab Mukherjee had a long-established political career where he served as a Member of Parliament seven times. He is also renowned for serving in the cabinet of several prime ministers. In 2012, Mukherjee was elected President of India.
