2020 just got a little better for the fans of Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. Will Smith, the prince himself, dropped a “fresh” new trailer on youtube this Friday and the fans are euphoric about it.
About a couple of months ago, Will took to his Instagram to announce the reunion. The Banks Family will finally get together after 30 years!
What to expect?
As Smith righteously mentioned no one was ready for this trailer. The video is starring Will’s co-actors – Tatyana Ali, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, and Alfonso Ribeiro as well as recurring co-star DJ Jazzy Jeff. The trailer features some snippets and moments from the original show.
But the reunion special won’t just be all smiles and laughs. The trailer of Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air: Reunion Special also highlights some difficult moments because the cast talks over the incident of the late James Avery. The actor who played father-figure Uncle Phil on the show. He passed on to the great beyond six years ago from complications after an open operation.
“James Avery was this six-foot-four Shakespearean beast,” quotes Smith. He further mentions that he wanted James to think he was good.
Those aren’t the sole tears shredded.
The trailer shows the cast reflecting on the significance of that the show which ran for 6 seasons especially had for Black viewers.
“Our show meant Black excellence to people,” Ali said within the trailer. “That excellence was the way that we loved one another .”
Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air Release Date:
Hold onto your horses, the reunion will debut on 19th November 2020. The premiere will air on HBO Max and made in partnership with Westbrook Media.
