There is a piece of good news for all the fans out there waiting for the reunion special of the very much love American sitcom, FRIENDS. The filming of FRIENDS: Reunion was halted due to the coronavirus. To ensure the safety of cast and crew, the production ordered to follow the lockdown and social distancing. Well, the shooting of the Reunion is expected to be resumed in August. According to the co-creator of the series, Marta Kauffman, if there is no second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, then the production is planning to film the Reunion in August.Friends Cast

The Reunion special was announced in February and was supposed to be made initially available for the launch of HBO Max. Due to the worldwide lockdown that was imposed to follow the norms of social distancing, the release of the special Reunion was delayed.
With the states beginning to reopen, Kauffman told the Wrapthere’s that they are hoping that the special could happen in the summer. She said that the production is hoping to shoot in August, if there is no second wave and if all is well.
Will Friends Reunion filming begin in August?
The plan was to film the program in February on the original “Friends” sound stage in the Warner Bros Studio lot, Burbank, California. According to Marta Kauffman, the team behind the special Reunion is still looking to make this happen.Friends Scene

Marta said that If everything is in place and they understand all the protocols, and they can still make a good show, they’ll be shooting it some time, mid-to-late August. The unscripted special will feature Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry. It will mark the first time that all six stars are reunited in front of the cameras. A partial reunion happened in 2016 without Perry.
