Game Of Thrones is one of the most popular series ever made. The series not only enjoys a huge fan base but also proves to be a big commercial hit for HBO. The very reason why the channel was keen on making a prequel of the show. Not just that, two different prequels were in conversation after the final episode of GoT season 8 which aired in May 2019.
Game of Thrones Prequels:
Talking regarding the two prequels, one was of the title “Bloodmoon” or “The Long Night” which would star Naomi Watts. The prequel supposedly had to take place during the Age of Heroes. Even a pilot got film but HBO decides not to go ahead with the project.

The other prequel that was in the talks was “House Of The Dragon”. This one got the thumbs up from HBO and will now start filming in 2021.
House Of The Dragon Plot!
The Game Of Thrones prequel will feature the history of the house Targaryen. In September, we hear from HBO president Casey Bloys assuring us that the prequel would premiere in 2022.
It is based on Martin’s Fire & Blood Book. House Of The Dragon is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen, rich in the dragonlord ancestors of Daenerys.
House Of The Dragon Updates:
Game Of Thrones gave the announcement on their official Twitter page along with two pieces of concept art. It gives the fans a first glance of the dragons.
Both excitingly and unsurprisingly, the two images are of dragons. The first offers a peek at the full length of a dragon, while the second gets closer to its fearsome face.
Casting took place over the summer with an eye on a 2022 premiere, and in October, Paddy Considine was cast in the lead role of King Viserys Targaryen. Beyond that, we know a little else about House of the Dragon.
