GHOST-MAKER: Details about the New Villain after “The Joker War”

Batman is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books by DC Comics. Its writer James Tynion IV gave a virtual press conference and revealed some of the interesting details about the upcoming Joker War and the new character ‘Ghost-Maker‘. Ghost-Maker implies a full-fledged villain at first but it is actually not. Read on to know the details.

The Joker War

Batman #100 is the next big storyline and is under creation. Joker War starts with Batman #95. He stated that the coordination between the main ‘Joker War‘ storyline with other Bat-family titles is under development. However, in Batman #100 “The Joker War” will come to a conclusion. It will include a city-shattering brutal battle between Batman and The Joker. It also teases about the incoming of the brand new ‘Ghost-Maker’.

The official description for “Joker War” describes the upcoming event as:

“It was always going to come to this. The Clown Prince of Crime and the Dark Knight Detective go head-to-head for the last time. The Joker has never wanted to win before, he’s never wanted his battle with Batman to end, but now his motivation has shifted. He has decided that one way or another, this will be the final chapter to their story. “Joker War” begins here!”

The Ghost-Maker: Details

The conclusive end of Batman #100 will also bring in a new character i.e. Ghost-Maker. This character is yet to appear in the series but has been teased in the solicits.

James Tynion hinted that the Ghost-Maker will show up as an adversary to Bruce but not as a villain. Ghost-Maker has known Bruce since the time he was training to be a Batman. Thus, he is no stranger to Batman but in fact a known figure from his earlier days. However, the reason for his arrival now is that he doesn’t think Bruce is doing a good job in Gotham City.

About the idea behind the creation of Ghost-Maker, Tynion said, “creating this rival from the youth that we’re going to see come in in a big way in the present.” We can wait for the official release of the comics to see how Gotham City gets affected by the presence of Ghost-Maker.
