Gintama: The Final anime film’s official website has revealed the full trailer and poster visual on Saturday. The film is based on Hideaki Sorachi‘s Gintama manga. Also, it was the franchise’s birthday on Saturday. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming anime film!

The anime film’s trailer just got out on Sunday and it revealed many exciting things.

The trailer announces and previews the theme song “Wadachi” (Tracks) by the band SPYAIR. The film also emphasizes that this film is the “finale, for real.” They also emphasized on this through many previous videos and promotional materials.

SPYAIR has previously collaborated with the franchise. The rock band has performed three theme songs for the Gintama television anime earlier. They also performed the theme song titled ‘Gekijōban Gintama Kanketsu-hen: Yorozuya yo Eien Nare’ for the previous film.

The rock band DOES will also contribute with an insert song in the new film.

The official Gintama Channel is all set to premiere on YouTube on Saturday. Right now, the channel is streaming the first television episode and eight other episodes. The channel will feature the 2010’s Gintama: The Movie at 7:00 p.m. (6:00 a.m. EDT). The channel will start on October 24 and will air the top 25 episodes, chosen by voters in the ongoing poll.

Participating theaters will start the sale of MoviTicke Cards along with a visual by Sorachi on October 16. The MoviTicke Cards’ second batch with the poster visual unveiled on Saturday will go on sale on November 3.

Release Date and More!

The film is all set to premiere on January 8, 2021, and is labeled as “the finale, for real this time.” This film will be the ultimate final of the original manga and all-new story elements. Additionally, a new net anime special is currently under production. This special is based on the manga and will somehow connect with the upcoming film. The online dTV service will exclusively premiere the special in Japan in “early 2021.”

The manga is a science-fiction period-drama comedy. It began in 2003 and ended in June 2019. During this time, this time, the manga sold over 55 million copies. The manga has inspired various live-action films, original video anime (OVA), and two live-action net spinoffs.
