Konami officially made an announcement on Wednesday that it has joined Google’s Stadia cloud gaming platform. They will also make their debut with the Super Bomberman R game as its first title on the platform.
Super Bomberman R game is based on the Super Bomberman SNES game. It will feature new graphics, boss battles, and an eight-player mode. The game first debuted on Nintendo Switch in March 2017 in North America, Japan, and Europe. It was later released in June 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in the United States, Japan, and Europe.
Stadia Games and Entertainment said that its latest game round will be exclusive third-party titles. Also, it will only be available on its on-demand game streaming service.
Google’s Stadia: More Collaborations!
Splash Damage’s multiplayer arena shooter Outcasters is one of the games to be launched. It is billed as “Only on Stadia”. Super Bomberman R Online will be joining the release with Outcasters. This is a new version of Konami’s party game featuring a 64-player battle royal mode. Additionally, Super Bomberman R Online will be a “First on Stadia” title when it launches this fall.
One Hand Clapping from Bad Dream Games has also secured the “First on Stadia” exclusivity. It is a musical puzzle platformer that requires players to sing their way to solutions. Additionally, the game also won the audience choice award at IndieCade 2018 and launched into Early Access today.
Stadia announced many new projects. Along with this, the also announced collaboration with Harmonix Games (Rock Band, Fuser), Uppercut Games (City of Brass, Submerged), and Supermassive Games (Until Dawn, Man of Medan). Which projects will be launched under the collaboration is not yet revealed.
“First on Stadia” titles means that the title is debuting on Stadia but the developer has indicated it will arrive on other platforms. The “Only on Stadia” title means the developer has not announced intent to bring the title to other platforms.
