Grant Imahara, the engineer who co-hosted Mythbusters for Discovery and White Rabbit Project on Netflix, suddenly died at the age of 49.

Grant Masaru Imahara was an American electrical engineer, roboticist, and television host. He was born on October 23, 1970, to a Japanese-American family in Los Angeles, California. Moreover, Imahara was a graduate of the University of Southern California, with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.

However, for a time, he seriously considered switching majors, with the intention of becoming a screenwriter; he decided to stay on the engineering track after assisting Tomlinson Holman, a professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

Most importantly, he was best known for his work on the television series MythBusters, in which he designed and built numerous robots that were needed for the show, and specialized in operating the various computers and electronics that were utilized to test myths.

Imahara starred in the Netflix series White Rabbit Project released on December 9, 2016.

He also made special effects models for films including the Star Wars prequels.

Cause Of Death of Grant Imahara

Imahara died suddenly on July 13, 2020, after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm at the age of 49.

The Discovery Channel, which aired Mythbusters and BattleBots, on which Imahara was a judge, described him as “a really wonderful man”.

Fellow Mythbusters and White Rabbit Project presenter Kari Bryon responded to the news by writing: “Somedays I wish I had a time machine.”

Also one of the shows’ stars, Tory Belleci, said: “I just cannot believe it. I don’t even know what to say. My heart is broken.”

Tributes were paid by fans, friends, and followers, including actor Matthew Mercer and internet personality Gavin Free.

Grant Imahara has left a permanent void in the industry and our hearts to. Our deep condolences to his friends and family members at this hour of grief. We hope that wherever he is, he finds peace and happiness.
