Family Friendly movies are becoming a fading entity in the new age of realistic cinema. However, every once in a while, we need to throw the drama out. That is the perfect time for a movie night with our family members. It is often enough to find a movie with enough fun and light-heart comedy but clean enough not to get the environment awkward.
Here is a list of movies that are perfect for watching along with your loved ones:-
I. FREAKY FRIDAY (2003)
This is about the third adaptation of the Mary Rodgers novel. Finally, the crew behind this movie has gotten it together. It’s obvious that the original has been re-invented in order to morph into a newer audience. The movie came out back in 2003, which makes up about 17 years ago, and the fact that it’s still entertaining is a massive statement. This Mother-Daughter duo will keep you smiling through the run-time with great comedic performances.
II. BLENDED (2014)
While critics don’t value Sandler’s laugh-out-loud gag comedy, we’re all here for it. Adam Sandler shines when he’s working with kids, and it’s there to see from this movie. In these troubling times, maybe we don’t need a serious reality check. We need to see a dad falling down off the sofa in front of his kids. The chemistry between him and Drew Barrymore is as good as any.
It is heartwarming, fun, and had people laughing several times. Yes, it’s totally predictable, but that can sometimes be okay. You know what you are going to get, the freaky children and the inevitable romance.
III. SPIES IN DISGUISE (2019)
Nick Bruno and Troy Quane bring a mad but fun story to the screens in a charming animation. When the world’s most amazing spy is turned into a pigeon, he must rely on his nerdy techy geek friend to save the planet.
Obviously, the movie is catering to a much younger audience, but there’s no harm in watching it with family. The story has enough action and comedy to keep you entertained through the entire course of the movie. Maybe it’s time to resurrect the kid buried inside you.
IV. A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting (2020)
Bringing back Draco Malfoy into the fold for a fictional tale is just the perfect premise to make anyone feel interested. This modern monster movie is a tale of a secret society of babysitters, a high schooler battles the Boogeyman. It’s simplistic, and the end is predictable, but so is every movie meant for kids. While some people will be fed up with the cliches, it is the non-complex structure that works too.
Fusion of Halloween-timed scares, teen angst, and woman power make this an enjoyable watch for tweens.
V. THE PROPOSAL (2009)
Set in the picturesque New York City, this tale of two corporates is surprisingly refreshing cinema. However, even after 12 years of the initial release, this movie keeps reminding us about the good times. Both the superstars, Reynolds and Bullock are proven crowd-pleasers and they bring out brilliant performances. Families can take time out and enjoy themselves watching this classic rom-com.
The Proposal isn’t going to win any Oscars, nor will it become your favorite cinematic experience of all time. However, it does exactly what it is supposed to do; that is to entertain you.
VI. SOUL (2020)
This movie will teach you that life isn’t about careers, goals, passions, or achievements. It’s about living, right here in this moment, exactly where you are. All these factors are what make this movie the best choice for families. Even when the principal audience is our younger generation, adults will surely enjoy this experience. It’s incredibly imaginative like most of the Pixar movies and deeply meaningful like just their greatest ones.
