Well, “Huluween” sounds really like a cheap marketing slogan, but the streaming platform is actually putting in an effort that goes well beyond its catalog. Hulu will be having a Huluween special for the third year now for the scariest time of the year.
Whether the name is, debatable or clever, but what is not debatable here is that the streaming service typically does not have an extensive horror catalog. However, this name may just be a gimmick that pays off.
Apart from all the other things, one thing that immediately stands out about the catalog is the fact that the viewers can choose what form of horror they would desire to explore. This special is split into three wide categories, one is, Screamy as Hell, the second is, Spooky not Scary, and the third is Humorous Horror.
Huluween: Know What Hulu Is Planning; Is it Just A Marketing Stunt?
You now may be aware that the catalog itself is, as mentioned above, not the strongest, although it does the cult-classic Hellraiser, which is going well with the Books of Blood, which is to be released soon. It also includes the entire Blade trilogy and the Stephen King adaptation Children of the Corn.
For the fans of more of the modern titles, there is Hostel, Overlord, and the cult-movie, Snakes on a Plane. Meanwhile, for all the horror fans, who want to see the remakes of their favorite series, the subscription service has the most recent iterations of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Pet Sematary, Child’s Play, and The Omen.
Also, if someone is looking for a more comedic take on this genre, which is horror, Anna and the Apocalypse, The Cabin in the Woods, and Little Monsters are also made available to stream. The selection of Hulu also includes the horror television series like Castle Rock, American Horror Story, and NOS4A2, as well as the television classic The X-Files and The Twilight Zone.
Perhaps one of the most interesting parts of this promotion is the five movies and the shows that are going to be premiered on Hulu during the month of October. These five Hulu originals include the adaptation of Clive Barker’s Books of Blood, Helstrom, Monsterland, Bad Hair, and Madagascar: A Little Wild.

However, there is really something that makes Huluween special, and it is the extra-mile that the streaming service providing platform is willing to go to stand out from other services with more expansive horror catalogs.
