Jeff Bridges Diagnosed With Lymphoma; Shares The News Himself

It has been announced by Jeff Bridges himself on Monday afternoon on the social media platform, Twitter, that he has recently been diagnosed with Lymphoma. He started his post off with reference to The Big Lebowski, writing, “As the Dude would say… new s*** has come to light.” 

Jeff continued and said that he had been diagnosed with Lymphoma; although the disease is serious, but he feels fortunate enough that he is having a great team of doctors, and the prognosis is also good. He is going to start the treatment and will be keeping us all posted on his recovery.

Bridges thanked his supporters and followers in a second tweet to the same thread and encouraged them to vote in the upcoming United States Presidential Elections, linking to the website. He tweeted that he is profoundly grateful for all the love and support from his family and friends and thanked them for their prayers and well wishes. In conclusion to his tweet, he said that while he has us, please remember to go vote because we are all in this together.

For all of the readers who are not aware of what Lymphoma is, it is a cancer of the lymphatic system, which is the network of the body that fights off the diseases. This system includes the spleen, the lymph nodes, thymus gland, and bone marrow. Though he did not specify which kind of Lymphoma he had been diagnosed with, there are two main types of Lymphoma, and one is Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and the second one is non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

The treatment of this disease usually involves chemotherapy, various medications, radiation therapy, and in rare cases, they can even require a stem cell transplant. Jeff Bridges has most recently appeared in the El Royale and Bad Times in the year 2018, and he is currently in the production for The Old Man, the TV miniseries.
