Katy Keene is an American musical comedy-drama television series. It is under the development of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi. The series is typically under the basis of the Archie Comics character of the same name.
It chronicles the roots and travails for four aspiring artists by trying to attain successful careers on Broadway. Katy Keene is a spin-off of Riverdale. Generally, it takes five years to place the events of the former. The series is under the production of Berlanti Productions, in association with Archie Comics, CBS Television Studios, and Warner Bros. Television.
The Premise Goes as,
The comedy series follows the professional and romantic lives of four Archie Comics characters. It also includes fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene and singer-songwriter Josie McCoy. It is probably after the five years of the events of Riverdale, as they never stop to chase their dreams in New York City.
The Main Focus,
The series inspires music into the plotlines and follows the roots as well as trials. It also doesn’t forget to tribute to four struggling artists who are desperate to make it in the spotlight.
From his earliest discussions about the program, executive producer Robert Aguirre-Sacasa promised it would have a magical tone the series would seem to set up romantic travails for its four principal characters — and each has someone in their lives — their truest romance is with the city itself and the sense that anything can happen there. Compared to the way the Riverdale gang seem to loathe their hometown, it might drive those less enamored with New York a little crazy.
In Riverdale’s future vs Katy Keena
Some Loopholes to be filled, for Katy Keene and Riverdale
Though the program avoids specifics in its early episodes, the show takes place sometime in Riverdale’s future. Early on, Josie McCoy aka Ashleigh Murray makes associates to the time spent between leaving town with her father. But it avoids refining too much on where she has been.
Additionally, Katy herself is coincident of Veronica Lodge aka Camilla Mendes. Whom she availed herself of Katy’s costume-making skills on Riverdale earlier this season. If Katy is already working at Lacy’s when Veronica heads to New York for some catching-up and shopping, then we know the two shows are within three years of each other.
At the same time, the lack of a precise time gap offers both shows some flexibility. In terms of future crossovers or characters making long-term migrations from one series to the other, it is rather a good idea. It also indicates events on Katy Keene are less likely to conflict with Riverdale. Fortunately for both shows, Sabrina takes place in an alternate reality and keeps its Devil far from The CW.
