Kelly Asbury, ‘Shrek 2′ director, passes away at the age of 60

Shrek 2 director Kelly Asbury breathed his last on June 26, 2020. The news of his demise comes at the age of 60 after fighting a long time battle with abdominal cancer.

Nancy Newhouse Porter, the representative of Asbury, revealed the news of his passing away. She stated that “[Kelly Asbury] was one of the most admired and beloved people in the industry. It’s heartbreaking for everyone.

All his fans and colleagues are in a deep state of shock after this news came out. Also, emotional messages from around the world started to pour out as soon as people got to know about his demise.

During his early days, Asbury worked on ABC series ‘Littles‘ and a feature ‘The Black Cauldron.’

He began his journey with Disney in the late ’80s with cartoons like ‘The Little Mermaid,’ ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas,’ and ‘James and the Giant Peach.’

His film venture started with some superhit animated movies like 1995 Pixar classic ‘Toy Story,’ ‘Shrek,’ ‘Kung Fu Panda,’ ‘Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa,‘ ‘Frozen,’ ‘Sherlock Gnomes‘ and others. All these movies brought him wide recognition and fame.

Asbury’s last directorial work was in 2019’s Ugly Dolls, which included actors like Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Black Shelton, Pitbull, Gabriel Iglesias, and others. Kelly Asbury has work in a number of such interesting projects. His work was appreciated by all. His colleagues, family, and close ones have everything good to say about him. We were expecting more masterpieces from him in  future.
