Kristen Stewart watched the fourth season of The Crown to prepare herself for her upcoming role in Spencer, a Princess Diana biopic. Spencer is all set to follow one of Princess Diana’s last Christmases at the famed Sandringham estate of the royal family.
The film is directed by Pablo Larraín and will start shooting in the year 2021. Stewart is no stranger to biopics, having recently played the role of Jean Seberg in Seberg of Amazon Prime Video.Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana

Larraín, too, is well versed in the biopics. The director released Jackie in the year 2016. That movie netted Natalie Portman a Best Actress nomination at the Oscars for her chilling portrayal of Jackie Kennedy.
The Crown season 4 premiered this month to rave reviews, and the show follows the reign of Queen Elizabeth, whose role is played by Olivia Colman in the most recent season. The fourth season of the show focuses heavily on Princess Diana, whose role is played by Emma Corrin, and also her marriage to Prince Charles.

The tumultuous relationship has long been a point of contention for the House of Windsor, and this recent season has only reignited long-festering tensions within the family.
Stewart revealed in a new interview with The Wrap that she watched the most recent season of The Crown to prepare for her role as Princess Diana.
Even though the film takes place during a different time in Diana’s life, Stewart said that it helped her emotionally connect with the princess and other people in her life. Spencer is all set in the early 1990s, right before the divorce of Diana and Charles, while The Crown season 4 ended in the year 1990.Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana

As an actor, the reputation of Kristen Stewart has only grown since her Twilight years, with the actress majorly focusing on smaller roles in indie films like Larraín’s. The actress has greater shoes to fill, though, not only because of the larger-than-life persona of Diana but also because the performance of Corrin is spectacular.
Kristen Stewart has a lot of inspiration to draw from the time of Princess Diana.
