Meet the newest recruit of the Waverider, Lisseth Chavez, who has been added to the sixth season of Legends of Tomorrow. We have learned that she has been cast in the regular role of the series of alien expert, Esperanza Spooner Cruz. Also, as she has joined this show, she will no longer be a part of the Chicago PD and hence, won’t be making any appearances further in the show from the eighth season. As per the official synopsis, Esperanza Spooner Cruz has joined the time ship crew in the sixth season, which finds the co-captain, Ava Sharpe and Sara Lance and their team, hunting down the extraterrestrials who have been displaced throughout the history.
After Sara is abducted by a ruthless alien, this new mission has become personal, and it will be taking a power more than the combined strengths of the legends to save the world for the sixth time in a row. Esperanza Spooner is a character who either helps her team defeat the intergalactic forces being a uniquely qualified one, or she is just crazy. As we read the description given of the character, it says that she is tough and self-sufficient, and likes to live off the grid, devising the smart tech for the detection of space aliens and defence against them.
Legends of Tomorrow adds Lisseth Chavez
While some calls her paranoid, she calls it being prepared, she is a survivor of an alien encounter in her childhood, and she now believes that she has an ability to communicate telepathically with the aliens. Though Esperanza may be a resource for the legends out there, but she won’t necessarily be buds with them. The executive producer of the show, Grainne Godfree said during the complete DC FanDome panel of the show that she is not going to be one of the lovable losers that we normally have. He added that she is going to be the one who is pretty tough and gives it to other legends, and they all will have to react to her.
