Lovecraft Country Episode 1: Review

Based on the novel of the same name released in 2016, this 2020 adaptation is produced by the likes of J.J. Abrams and Jordan Peele. Lovecraft Country, the title s a nod at H.P. Lovecraft, who is a pretty well-known racist and the story is from his time.

The first episode of this new series introduced us to our main character Atticus and his rebellious nature. He is an avid reader, and he hates racism. Atticus receives a letter from his father and decides to meet him, but it’s not that easy.

George Freeman, played by B Vance, is shown to assemble a Greenbook – Like the 2018 Oscar-winning movie – a book that was actually used as a travel guide for people of color. Now without giving to much away, let me just say that this show Lovecraft Country includes. Horror, drama, some action, and a bunch of other stuff like every HBO show but what it has in addition to all of this also in abundance (judging from the first episode) is a lot of emotion. It’s a very resonating setting.

With everything thing that is going on in the USA, people are going to love Atticus and his free spirit. Do give it a watch.
