Jane Krakowski, who has previously worked in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Randy Jackson, who has previously worked in American Idol, are set to Name That Tune. The pair have recently joined Fox’s just-ordered reboot of the iconic game show host and bandleader, respectively.
The new iteration is scheduled to be premiered on January 6, Wednesday, at 9/8c, and the original Tune, which made its debuted on the radio in the year 1952 and had several runs on the television, including a syndicated stint in the years 1974-81.
It was hosted by Tom Kennedy tested contestants on their knowledge of popular music by asking them to identify songs played by the orchestra of the show.
The show last aired in the year 1985, but an updated Tune has been attempted and also abandoned several times in recent years, including previous tries at CBS in the year 2006 and in the year 2017.
President of Alternative Entertainment and Specials of Fox, Rob Wade, said in a statement that they are thrilled to bring the iconic musical game show titled “Name That Tune” back to television with this updated revival.

Per Fox, each episode of an hour length of the series is going to be comprised of two standalone contests of half-hour each, each pitting two of the players against each other as they race against the clock to test their knowledge of the songs that will be performed by the live band.
Each contest will be featuring a rotating variety of games before the iconic Bid-a-Note round from the original format.
At the end of Bid-a-NoteThe player with the most money eventually wins the game and takes her or his bank into the Golden Medley bonus round for a chance to win an additional cash prize and potentially the $100,000 grand prize.
