NCIS is soon going to make a return for its eighteenth season on CBS with the majority of the past season on the online streaming service providing platform, Netflix. However, the real question here is will the season 16, 17, or 18, come to the streaming giant?
In this article, we are going to take a look at the streaming status of the show. It is worth noting that only Netflix United States currently has access to NCIS, and we do not expect other regions to get any of the previous seasons.
The show has been on our screens for well over 15 years now, and the fans of the show still keep coming back for more. The franchise has also spawned multiple spin-offs over its run with titles such as NCIS: New Orleans and NCIS: Los Angeles.
However, only the original series used to get regular updates on the streaming service. The seventeenth season of the show was one of the most-watched seasons in history, with over 12.5 million tuning in on a weekly basis.
NCIS Season 16-18: When To Expect The Netflix Release?
The Major Case Response Team for those that are new to the show is a part of the fictional Naval Criminal Investigative Service. It is based in Washington, D.C, in the field office of Washington Navy Yard.
The MCRT is sent in to investigate if a crime is committed by a member of the Navy or Marine Corps.
Since the year 2018, two of the major titles of CBS on Netflix no longer started receiving annual updates. The fifteenth season of the series, which is still the latest season on Netflix, was added to the streaming giant in the month of June of the year 2018, and since then, Criminal Minds and NCIS have not been updated.
So what is happening as of now? Officially, neither Netflix nor CBS has provided us with a statement regarding the possible future of the show, but the indication is that the contract to get the annual updates have ended, and now we are probably waiting until the day when the two titles are taken away from Netflix.
For fans of the show in the United Kingdom, NCIS, unfortunately, is not on Netflix. The show is set to air on Fox in January 2019 and will most likely be available for catch up on-demand on Sky’s Sky Go App and Now TV.
