Critical details on Netflix’s The Second Life of Ben Haskins
Netflix has been a savior during this pandemic. The streaming platform has numerous shows and movies with different genres. Amongst them, their sci-fi is one of the best. Netflix has made a deal with Chernin Entertainment to release a new Netflix Original movie, The Second Life Of Ben Haskins.
Details regarding this Netflix film
Chernin entertainment came to Netflix for the deal in April 2020. This meeting stirred up all the speculations. To date, none of the parties have confirmed if they have any more projects together. As of now, we have Jenno Topping (Ford v Ferrari), Dan Finlay (Tolkien), and David Ready (The Mountain Between Us) as producers on the project. All of these have proved to be a gem for the company.
The film is a sci-fi thriller somewhat similar to Altered Carbon. The story revolves around a man on his deathbed named Ben. Ben volunteers for a new experimental procedure that takes him 19 years ahead in the future in a new body and a wife!
The Black List
The Blacklist has been working for a while on this script. The Blacklist is a website for screenwriters. The project was on since 2018 in the list of “top unproduced screenplays!” Matthew Kic and Mike Sorce are the writers behind the screenplay.

How did Netflix find the script?
ScriptShadow is a website that reviews scripts, and they posted a review of this one in August 2019. The study was all appreciation, but they did not refrain that such writings are usually not picked up because of low box office numbers. However, Netflix is not inclined to the box office numbers, and hence they took the shot.
The casting people have not officially announced much of a list of who plays who. However, some names have come up on the internet and from some close sources. The La La Land actor Ryan Gosling is among them, but nothing is confirmed from the actor or the production. Even Harry Styles is considered for the role of Ben.
