Norsemen Season 4 Canceled | Netflix Ends The Series After 3 Seasons

Norsemen, the comedy series, is not going to return for a fourth season at the online streaming service providing platform, Netflix, as it has been canceled after the three seasons by NRK1 and by the extension, the streaming giant has made a decision of not to pick up the fourths season of series by itself. The comedy series has hailed from Norway and it is the third project that Netflix and NRK have worked on together, Lilyhammer was the first one, which still holds the accolade of being the first Netflix original series, back in the year 2013 with Nobel, coming in the year 2016, and Norsemen also starting in the year 2016.

The series is known as Vikingane in Norway, and it was created by Jonas Torgersen and Jon Iver Helgaker, and it followed a band of Vikings living in the eighth century. Fans of the Lilyhammer series will be able to recognize many of the faces featured throughout the series. The third season of the series was made available to stream on the streaming giant without much fanfare in the month of July of the year 2020. It managed to enter the top 10 series in the United Kingdom for three days but it failed to reach the top 10 series in the United States.

In a statement on the official Facebook and Twitter accounts of the show, they made an announcement that they would not be returning for the fourth season in late September of this year, they said, “that’s how sad you get when you come to know that there is not going to be a fourth season on Netflix. We hope to find several other ways to bring you more Norsemen in the future, but for the time being, enjoy the first three seasons of the series. It has been a blast for all of us, thanks for watching”

This announcement evoked some strong reactions of sadness from some of the fans with one reading, “Norsemen has become one of the best comedies to have come out in the last 20 years. Thank you for everything, and I wish everyone all the best in moving forward.”

Despite the sad news here, other current Netflix Originals from Norway seem to be doing well on the streaming giant. We are of course getting another season of Ragnarok plus we’re getting a new season of the Norwegian Home for Christmas, Christmas comedy-drama. We are still waiting, however, to learn if the horror anthology series Bloodride will be returning.
