Nintendo is unfolding some new games after the release of Paper Mario: The Origami King (Yes I see the irony). The game-play has changed significantly from the classic one-way singular to a circular adventure.
Paper Mario’s Storyline does seem interesting though. The new villain – folded King Olly has taken over the Peach Castle with the help of streamers. Our hero Mario has to find the source of all the streamers to undo them and rescue the princess.
The new world structure is also lauded. The classical level structure is replaced with just one whole worldly adventure. The new battle techniques introduced are also a good change here. Now Paper Mario stands in circular structure with a set of moves for any wave approaching. This makes the game more logical. With weird bosses like paper and scissors, the game introduces new challenges.
It also changes things for Paper Mario himself as now the bosses can be at the center subjected to danger. There are companions to the heroes as well. Professor Toad and Bob-omb. Overall the game is and a fitting continuation of the Mario Saga. The new structure does justice to the story. Even the Origami Princess takes over the show many times. She gives the story much needed sensible dialogues. Her character development across the game was one of my favorites.
Paper Mario – The Conclusion:
Nintendo Switch – Intelligent System’s Paper Mario: The Origami King is overall a nice experience for newcomers. For the fans of the previous versions, it’s going to be an ambiguous reaction. Further Version of the game is a new we have to wait for. It turns out though this unfolding was worth the wait for both gamer’s and new playing public trying to explore. It brings back the nostalgic storytelling technique as a new version. Go try it!
