Pickup Manga Ends ‘1st Part’: Full Details Inside!

Pickup manga has concluded its first part. Kodansha‘s Monthly Young Magazine’s October issue published the manga’s ‘first part’ final chapter on Thursday. Shohei Manabe and Hirokazu Fukuda are the manga’s creator. Here’s everything you need to know about the manga!

The magazine issue also revealed that artist Hirokazu Fukuda is working toward a new serialization. The issue, however, does not confirm whether or not this new serialization will be a continuation of Pickup.

The magazine’s September issue hinted that the manga’s climax will be released in August. Kodansha is all set to launch the magazine’s first and second compiled book volumes on October 6.

Pickup Manga: Synopsis

The manga revolves around a character named Harumi Minami. Harumi is a 23-year-old new hire at a women’s fashion magazine. He is a virgin, in both his work and private life. One day, Fujihara, the magazine’s handsome editor notices him. He then decides to teach Harumi how to pick up women.

Monthly Young Magazine published the manga’s first volume on February 20. Manabe is the manga’s original creator, while Fukuda is credited for the manga’s art.

Manabe concluded his Ushijima the Loan Shark manga in March 2019. The manga was titled ‘Yamikin Ushijima-kun’ in Japanese. Weekly Big Comic Spirits premiered the series in 2004. Additionally, Shogakukan published the 46th and final volume in May 2019.

The manga won the 56th Shogakukan Manga General Category Awards in 2011. The series also received a nomination for an Osamu Tezuka Culture Prize in 2008 and 2010. Additionally, in 2008 France’s Angoulême Comics Awards nominated the manga.

Live-action film series was made from the manga. It ran from October to December 2010, and the first film opened in August 2012. The series’ second season premiered in January 2014, followed by the second film in May 2014.

Later, the third season came out in Japan in September 2016. The fourth film was the final live-action film. Yamikin Ushijima-kun The Final, opened in Japan in October 2016.
