A reboot of Pretty Little Liars is in the production phase at the Warner Bros. Television according to The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. The showrunner of Riverdale, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, is also helping in the production of the reboot of the show. It has been reported that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is spearheading the new take on the Freeform teen drama, and it is expected that he will be writing the script of the show. However, it is not clear yet whether the creator of the original series, I. Marlene King, is going to be involved in the new iteration.
It is said that the reboot of Pretty Little Liars will be following a new storyline with all new characters. Any network for the upcoming series has not been chosen yet, though it is said by the sources that HBO Max is the top contender.
The original series was based on the popular Y.A. book series of Sara Shephard, and it followed a group of teenagers who are dealing with a web of secrets following the murder of their friend. The series ran for seven seasons from the year 2010-2017. Hale posted a series of photos along with the message which included the promo shot for the first season.
