Prison Break: Wentworth Miller Will No Longer Star In The Series; Know What He Revealed!

Wentworth Miller, who for five seasons featured as inmate Michael Scofield on the Fox show has reported that his association with the show has reached an end. A couple of days ago, Miller, bid adieu to the show through an Instagram post. He wrote, “I’m out. Of PB. Officially.”

Prison Break: Why Did he Quit?

The actor, who came out of the closet in 2013, further stated that he just doesn’t want to play straight characters. Because their stories have been told (and told) and now it is time for our share.

Miller addressed his fans in continuation of his announcement saying, “So. No more Michael. If you were a fan of the show, hoping for additional seasons… I understand this is disappointing. I’m sorry.”

The actor’s Prison Break co-stars backed him on his decision. Dominic Purcell, Wentworth’s on-screen brother, commented on his post “It was fun mate. What a ride it was,” Purcell further wrote that he fully supports and understands his reasoning. He’s glad about this decision for his health as well as his truth. Sarah Wayne Callies, Michael’s love interest, posted on her Instagram handle endorsing Miller.

She said that yesterday @wentworthmiller announced he’s done playing Michael Scofield because as a gay man he wants to focus on playing gay characters. with gratitude for all the work, we did together, & with deep love, and so she’s voicing her support for that choice.

To all the fans, know this: the cast of prison break stands with what’s right and is a queer-friendly space. They stand with and among friends & family in the LGBTQ+ community with full-throated support for their rights. always. and if that’s a problem for anyone, to quote a good man, ‘that’s your work.’

Prison Break is an American television serial drama. Paul Scheuring is the creator of the same. Fox turned down the series in 2003, but the first season received mostly positive reviews from critics with universal acclaim from audiences. The fourth season of Prison Break resumed from its break on April 17, 2009, for the series’ last few episodes.

Fox announced a nine-episode fifth season in January 2016. The revival series premiered on April 4, 2017; Fox also confirmed that season 6 was in early development; however, later they announced that they have no current plans to revive Prison Break.
