PUBG Mobile India: Government Makes A Statement On Its Unban. Details

It is to be noted that MEITY banned PUBG and hundreds of other Chinese apps in September. Amid rising speculations over the launch of the PUBG Mobile India game in the Indian market, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, or MEITY, has made it official that the Centre has not granted permission as of now to relaunch PUBG Mobile in India.

It is to be noted that MEITY banned PUBG and hundreds of other Chinese apps in September. Responding to an RTI Query, MEITY declared that ‘”MEITY has not given any permission for the launch of PUBG Mobile.” The RTI query was filed on November 30, as reported by Insidesport.

E-sport entity GEM Esports has recently shared the reply of RTI on their Instagram handle. “Dear Sir/ Mam, In September 2020, the Government of India, along with the consultation of your Department (MEITY), banned various Chinese applications.

One of which was the Pubg Mobile Game. There is much news that the game is being relaunched, and the same is explicitly made for the Indian users and will not be harmful in any kind to the nation and its citizens.

I would like to know if your regulation department has given any such official permission to the mobile game so that it can be relaunched,” the query filed through RTI asked.

MEITY has responded, stating that “MEITY has not given any permission for launch of PUBG.”

Earlier, there were reports that PUBG Corporation executives are chasing the Meity officials for more than a month for a meeting. Still, they are yet to get an official appointment from the government side.

The delay in getting permission clearly means that PUBG Mobile India will not be released in the Indian market soon.

The official from PUBG’s side told Insidesport that the efforts from PUBG were made in the right earnest, but the situation is such that there has been no progress on the matter.

They do not see the game making a comeback in India for the next few months, at least not before the month of March of the year 2021. It is unfortunate, but everyone has to live with it”.

So we think that you have to wait for some more time to be able to play your favorite game swiftly.
