Resident Evil 2: Photo from sets reveal major connection to the game
Who isn’t familiar with the video game, Resident Evil 2? Only boomers!! The makers have also learnt this thing, and a recent photo from the set of Resident Evil reboot confirms that. This photo hints a connection between the upcoming reboot and the video game.
More about “Resident Evil reboot.”
The movie is based on a screenplay by Greg Russo, and Johannes Roberts directs it. The plot of this film is said to be a remake of Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil film series which was in-turn an adaptation of Capcom’s wildly popular video-game series with the same name. The original film series consisted of six films with Milla Jovovich in the lead role. Most of these movies stuck to the origins but later, as time passed the story turned into a different direction. It received quite some criticism from video game enthusiast. But, the Resident Evil reboot is sticking to the roots. The new movie is set in Raccoon City in 1998.
Makers’ take on the reboot
Banner announced the “reboot” in 2018. James Wan was initially set to be one of the executive producers but later retracted himself from the project in favor of the Mortal Kombat reboot. Roberts replaced Wan, and he ended up writing and directing the movie. In a recent interview, Roberts revealed the reboot film would be more related to the video games. The horror score will be high! Recently, someone from production posted a picture from the sets, and it confirms Roberts’ affirmation regarding the film being close to the game from Capcom’s original series.

The photo shows a diner called Emmy’s in Sudbury, Ontario, the location of the shoot. Emmy’s is the diner Claire was in during her opening scene in the 1998 video game Resident Evil 2. The makers converted a Canadian café called Gus’ Restaurant from the game into a diner to pay tribute to the source. As mentioned earlier, the Resident Evil The restart film focuses on the classic game characters Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield and Chris Redfield instead of Jovovich’s Alice, who was the main character in the previous one Resident Evil Movies. Important details regarding the movie are not out yet; however, sources confirm that the reboot will explore the hidden secrets brewing inside the Spencer Mansion. Last month the cast for the Resident Evil A restart had been announced, with Maze Runners Kaya Scodelario playing Claire Redfield and Claire Redfield Ant-man and the wasp Hannah John-Kamen examines Valentine. A few days later, makers inducted Gotham Donal Logue into the cast of the film as Raccoon City Police Chief Brian Irons.
