“We’re literally writing season five while finishing season four just to force ourselves to commit to a certain schedule,” Harmon explained. “Not to get anyone’s hopes up, but it is structured into our deal that if we’re going strong and fast there are options to deliver more episodes at a time.”

Season 5 Expected Plot!

Previous seasons of Rick and Morty never did follow a linear, episodic plot.

In season 4, we come across the saga of Rick’s personal toilet, crystals that foresaw the death, and a parody of the heist genre. Amidst this, there may have been hints for what’s to come in season 5.

This biggest of the future plot points was Clone Beth, a creation of Rick’s to allow his daughter the chance to break away from her repetitive family life and explore the universe.

The Rick and Morty Season 4 finale left fans on the edge of their seats by leaving the interpretation as to which Beth was real and which Beth was the clone, and what will happen now that both Beth’s know the other exists. Let’s hope that the plot of clone beth and real Beth is picked up again in Season 5 or other future parts.

Evil Morty returns in Season 4.

We also experience the return of Evil Morty, albeit in the form of a dream/fantasy scenario in the episode “Never Ricking Morty”. Fans are keen to keep pace with Evil Morty after his rise to power back in season 3. The creators are simply teasing fans with these subtle yet vague plots and we can’t help but feel this feature in the episode in the future.

Hopefully, we get to see Evil Morty again with his evil plans, developing further in season 5.
