Masaaki Yuasa’s Ride Your Wave anime film is just around the corner. To increase the excitement, GKIDS, and Shout! The factory released an English dubbed clip from the anime on Friday.

Ride Your Wave: Release Date

The anime film is all set to release on August 4, 2020. The film will get a digital and home video release. You will be able to download and get an on-demand Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo pack and standalone DVD. The release will have the new English dubbed version. It will also have an exclusive booklet with a statement from Yuasa and art.

Masaaki Yuasa is the film’s director. He is well known for his works in The Night is Short Walk On, Girl, and DEVILMAN crybaby. This new anime film comes with his trademark visual ingenuity to a tale of romance, grief, and self-discovery.

The story revolves around Hinako, a college student. He loves surfing and he has just moved to a small seaside town. One day, a fire breaks out in her apartment and she gets trapped. Minato, a handsome firefighter rescues her and the two soon fall in love.

Things were going really well between the two. On one dark day, Minato loses his life in an accident at sea. Hinako breaks down completely and she is no longer to even look at the ocean.

One day she is walking along the ocean and singing songs reminding her of their old times. Out of the blue, Minato appears in the water. She gradually learns that now she can summon him in any watery surface as soon as she sings their song.

Can the tow remain together forever? Why did Minato appear suddenly and how? There are many unanswered questions. One must watch the film to discover more.
