Life of Saroj Khan
Saroj Khan was one of the most well known leading Indian dance choreographers in the Bollywood. She was born in Maharashtra, India, in 1948. With a career duration of over 40 years, she choreographed more than 2000 songs. She was known as the”mother of dance or choreography in India” and with affection called as “The Masterji.”
The choreographer began working as a background dancer at the age of three, got her first break as a self-made choreographer with Geeta Mera Naam in 1974. She was the three-time National Award winner.
Some of her iconic numbers are Hawa Hawai from Mr. India, Dhak Dhak Kerne Laga from Beta, Ek Do Teen from Tezaab, Dola Re Dola from Devdas, etc. Her most famous collaborations were with actors Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit in the 80s and 90s.Saroj Khan: Ace Indian Choreographer

The choreographer has also appeared as a judge of some of the dance reality shows like Nach Baliye, Boogie Woogie, and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. She last choreographed Madhuri Dixit in the song Tabaah Ho Gaye, Kalank, in 2019.
The veteran choreographer, was hospitalized in Guru Nanak Hospital at Bandra, Mumbai, on June 17, 2020. Saroj Khan, who was admitted because of the breathing difficulties, died of cardiac arrest at 1:52 am on Friday, July 2, 2020. She had severe diabetes and related illness. It was informed by her daughter Sukyna Khan, that her mother has tested negative for the COVID-19. She added that the problem of breathing was caused due to cold.
The last rites of Saroj Khan took place near Malad Chowki, Mumbai. Due to the COVID-19 crises, there will be no prayer meeting; gathering to tribute Saroj Khan’s life will be clutch when the pandemic situation is under control.
