David Arquette, the Scream 5 Star, said in an interview that he would love to play one of the most memorable characters of Dewey Riley for further more sequels. David Arquette has intentions to return for more sequels down the line. Dewey Riley, the successful character of Arquette, who we know as a Deputy Sheriff in Woodsboro, was very far from guaranteed. The character was supposed to die at the end of the first-ever Scream movie. However, the character survived due to the positive responses he got from the test audiences.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will be directing the fifth movie of the Scream franchise, and it is currently planned for a 2021 release. We have witnessed the direction of this duo earlier in the film, Ready or Not, which was a blend of horror and satire that performed really well with the critics as well as the audience.
